Four schools tip the scales as most expensive at more than $32,000 a year, according to Forbes.com.The average tuition at Catholic high schools nationwide was $6,906 during 2006-2007, according to the annual statistic report by the National Catholic Education Association. In Los Angeles parochial high schools, the rates range $5,000 -$9,700.
- Diplomas may also be earned through local independent study high schools that offer a combination of one-on-one tutoring and at-home work. In California, one grade level comprised of four courses and two electives runs about $9,000 -$10,000.
